prayer candles and bluegrass

first off, i have to say that ever since our house of blues show with reggie and the full effect, leathermouth, and mc chris, mc chris is popping up everywhere… not only did i get home from the show to see one of his episodes of aqua teen on, but even right now, i’m watching one of his characters on sealab. its great!

anyways.

earlier tonight… or is that technically last night… i went to another of my brother’s shows, Waxburner; it was a show of prayer candles with different pieces on them. here are some pictures i snapped, including his piece first…

afterwards we went to Reggie’s for a couple drinks. that place is seriously killer. great shows, great food… i need to make it to the record store some time.

skulls and souls

last night i went to another gallery showing some of my brother’s art. i wish i had my camera with me. his piece was a layered work with some amazing textures. it sold before the showing even started. i picked up a print from an artist, Solo, and am making room for it on my wall right now. this photo does it no justice, but it will give you an idea of its badassery…

ended the night with some tots and beers at Skylark. a swell night indeed!

graf tour

some friends of mine were in town from memphis and we all went on a little graffiti tour on the south side. we also stopped at my favorite panderia (el nopal) for some treats, and later met up with my brother and had some chicago pizza for dinner (giordanos). i snapped a bajillion photos, and decided to post some randomly chosen ones here for your viewing pleasure. thanks to my brother for being our virtual tour guide.
