cell phone diary week 3

i spent the majority of the past week in memphis. i love it down there. finally got to see the zoo and made my first pass by graceland in a good 8 years or so. i came home for one night, then headed to minneapolis for the weekend. i decided to test my new phone’s battery out and left my charger at home. fail. still snapped a couple of shots though, including one of the remarkably clean streets. chicago looks so dirty, comparably. the best part, though… i had no idea there were SONICS in mpls. mmmmm…

i spent most of this past week at my screen, with the exception of the weekend. we played in IN on friday and OH on saturday, so most of these snaps are from the weekend out. i’ve decided that because of the massiveness of the photos, i’ll be posting these particular posts as thumbnails. just click to enjoy.

we recently recorded a few demos at Mic It Studios in Lake Station IN. as part of the deal we struck with them, I’m working on this layout. it’s pretty simple (theres more than i’m showing though) but i’m kind of excited to see what it looks like in the end…

prayer candles and bluegrass

first off, i have to say that ever since our house of blues show with reggie and the full effect, leathermouth, and mc chris, mc chris is popping up everywhere… not only did i get home from the show to see one of his episodes of aqua teen on, but even right now, i’m watching one of his characters on sealab. its great!

anyways.

earlier tonight… or is that technically last night… i went to another of my brother’s shows, Waxburner; it was a show of prayer candles with different pieces on them. here are some pictures i snapped, including his piece first…

afterwards we went to Reggie’s for a couple drinks. that place is seriously killer. great shows, great food… i need to make it to the record store some time.

busy busy busy

ive been so busy lately and i havent had time to put any new shiz up. here’s a tee sample sheet i made though, so take a look at that. its got mostly recent stuff on it.

ive taken cue from my buddy nick b, and have started a “cell phone diary.” every monday i’ll be posting a bunch of random shots i snap while i’m out and about the previous week. i’m definitely curious as to how it will turn out, so we’ll see how it goes. check his out over at http://whoisnickbphoto.blogspot.com. its a cool idea, but we’ll see if my camera phone will be up to par.

film theory productions

i just wrapped up a layout for my buddy bosco over at film theory productions. i played around with some textures and styles on the elements and am super happy with the result.

skulls and souls

last night i went to another gallery showing some of my brother’s art. i wish i had my camera with me. his piece was a layered work with some amazing textures. it sold before the showing even started. i picked up a print from an artist, Solo, and am making room for it on my wall right now. this photo does it no justice, but it will give you an idea of its badassery…

ended the night with some tots and beers at Skylark. a swell night indeed!
